For about 50 years, the Church of Christ in Southern Africa has held the Southern African International Lectureship (SAIL).
It was a powerful celebration of missions, discipleship, evangelism, and kingdom impact. From April 18–20, over 2,000 attendees from Southern Africa and the U.S. gathered under the theme "Triumph in Christ by the Cross," witnessing God's mighty work in our region. It drew participants from Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia and the USA. Inside the main hall, numerous speakers, choirs, and song leaders contributed to the event. Four individuals were baptized. But this event was about so much more than numbers; it was a vibrant platform for building community, forging new connections, and advancing God's kingdom across Southern Africa and beyond.
It is worth noting that the 2025 SAIL event was a resounding success, exemplifying the unity and spiritual fellowship among Christians across Southern Africa. The atmosphere was filled with joy, devotion, and a shared commitment to faith and community. Attendees left feeling inspired and strengthened in their beliefs, carrying the spirit of the lectureship back to their respective countries. This gathering not only fostered spiritual growth but also reinforced the bonds of brotherhood among members of the Church of Christ throughout the region.
Comfort was given a rare opportunity to present lessons to about 90 preteens at the event. During her session, she focused on the themes of self-esteem and discovering one’s identity through a relationship with Jesus. The preteens were highly engaged.
During the Lectureship, we established the Botswana-Zambia Mission with a bold vision: to plant vibrant churches in the border regions of Botswana and Zambia.
Our dedicated team consists of 12 members, and our initial step is to establish a thriving church in Kasane, Botswana. We are excited about the divine opportunities that lie ahead and are committed to bringing hope, transformation, and the Gospel to these strategic border communities.
Together, we are courageously advancing God's kingdom across borders!
